A museum showcasing over 900 Berber artifacts including jewelry, costumes, instruments, and tools.
The Amazigh Heritage Museum (Musée du Patrimoine Amazigh) is one of Agadir's most important cultural attractions, dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history and traditions of the indigenous Berber (Amazigh) people of Morocco. Housed in a modern building, the museum displays over 900 artifacts spread across three floors. Exhibits include: traditional Amazigh jewelry (silver pieces from different regions), elaborate wedding costumes and textiles, musical instruments (including the lotar and bendir), weapons and tools, pottery and ceramics, ancient manuscripts, and ethnographic displays showing traditional Amazigh life. The museum also features temporary exhibitions of contemporary Moroccan art, supporting local artists. The collection spans from prehistoric times through the present day, telling the story of Morocco's original inhabitants who have lived in North Africa for thousands of years. The museum is small but exceptionally well-curated, with informative displays in Arabic, French, and English. It's located in the city center near the municipal park, making it easy to combine with other attractions. Admission is very reasonable[citation:3][citation:4][citation:10].
