Just an hour from Marrakech, the Ourika Valley is one of the most accessible and beautiful day trips from the city. Situated in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, this green valley features rushing rivers, Berber villages clinging to hillsides, and the famous Setti Fatma waterfalls—a series of seven cascades that require a moderate scramble to reach. You can hike up to the waterfalls, swim in natural pools (bring a swimsuit), have lunch at a riverside restaurant serving fresh trout and tagine, and visit a women-run Argan oil cooperative. The valley comes alive on Mondays with a traditional Berber market. the drive itself is scenic, passing through terraced fields and traditional mud-brick villages [citation:1][citation:5].
